The original discussion post directions and questions are:
Appropriate sampling is a critical component in developing a good research project.
1. Using your approved research questions and research topic, explain your anticipated sampling method and why this is appropriate for your
research proposal.
2. What is your sample size?
Please provide a response to the following post:
Tappen explains that the composition, who should and shouldn’t be included, and the sample size are largely dependent on whether the research is qualitative or quantitative (2015). The majority of my research is based on qualitative data which makes a priority to consider what is needed to best achieve the purpose of the study. I think for my research it is necessary to consider probability sampling. Probability sampling helps to ensure the elimination of bias or chance happenings (Tappen, 2015). Also important is taking into account the level of significance of the data. For my research, the sample size is somewhat variable based on the size of students included in each independent study. It is necessary to consider that larger samples may need to be broken down into subgroups based on the emergence of data that the studies yield. For many qualitative studies, it is believed that smaller groups or study groups can assist in obtaining more in-depth information for a study (Tappen, 2015).
